Hornady Match Ammunition Selected for World Long Range Target Rifle Championships

(Grand Island, NE) - Hornady Match Ammunition has been selected as the official ammunition for the Veteran's Team Match of the World Long Range Target Rifle Championships scheduled to take place in August at Connaught Ranges, Ottawa, Canada. The ammunition selected is a custom loaded Hornady 308 Win with 155 grain A-MAX bullet.

The host organization, Dominion of Canada Rifle Association (DCRA), was impressed by Hornady ammunition when it was used as the competition cartridge in the 2001 Australia Match, when both the winning and second place teams beat the previous record score. The DCRA followed a strict set of testing criteria for this year's event that eventually led to the selection of the custom loaded Hornady A-MAX ammunition. To be considered, ammunition was required to be a completely manufactured 308 Win cartridge loaded with a 155 grain match bullet. The ammunition selection process required ten rounds to group within one minute of angle at 100 meters when fired from a solid bench rest; and have consistent grouping capability at 900 meters. All Veteran's Team Match competitors must use the specified Hornady Match Ammunition, but favorable results have made it the choice of numerous competitors using it in the Palma Trophy Team Match and the Canadian Fullbore Rifle Championships.

This custom load is based on the 155 grain A-MAX 308 Win load available in the commercial TAP-FPD and TAP law enforcement loads.
