BEAVERTON, Ore. -- In conjunction with the Boone and Crockett Club®, Leupold® has released on DVD the first season of Leupold Big Game ProfilesTM, the first-ever encyclopedic documentary series on North American big game hunting.
Aired on the Outdoor Channel, the series is presented on a two-disc set featuring information and excerpts from hunts of 13 big game species. Species featured include black bear, pronghorn antelope, Alaska-Yukon moose, Dall's sheep, bison, grizzly bear, mountain caribou, desert bighorn sheep, whitetail deer, cougar, American elk, Coues' whitetail deer and Rocky Mountain goat.
"Leupold Big Game Profiles is a far cry from most hunting shows," said Mike Slack, the company's marketing communications manager. "The episodes are focused around informing viewers of each species' history as well as the importance of well-balanced conservation activities."
The show was the recipient of the Outdoor Channel's Golden Moose award at the 2007 SHOT Show in Orlando. The DVD set spans more than four hours. The second season of the show began earlier this month.
