ONO's TRADING COMPANY TITANIUM BIFOCAL READERS PDF Print E-mail

Now, those who pursue leisure or labor in the great outdoors can focus far or near with the same pair of stylish sunglasses

ImageMOBILE, Ala. – August 17, 2007 -- For farsighted women and men who pursue leisure or labor in the great outdoors, Ono’s Trading Company has introduced two titanium-model polarized sunglasses with bifocal readers for seeing up-close or far-away.

Ono’s new Latitude with grey lenses and the Schooner with amber lenses have ultra-light titanium frames with hingeless temples so the sunglasses conform to facial features without manual manipulation of the frames. Non-slip, adjustable silicone nose pads allow for a personalized, comfortable fit.

Ono's innovative sunglasses feature magnifying bifocals with 1.50, 2.00 or 2.50 power positioned below eye level so they won’t interfere with distance vision. Ono’s specified thin, scratch-resistant polycarbonate lenses, rimless to eliminate visual distractions. In addition, Ono’s de-centered the polycarbonate lenses in their frames to provide even more visual clarity.

Both sides of the lens received special hydrophobic coating to resist fogging and to repel rain, sunscreen and other oils, perspiration and dirt.

Chris Nelson, National Sales Manager, said Ono’s Trading Company pioneered the innovative sunglasses-with-readers using patented technology to create fashionable and functional sunglasses that replace awkward alternatives like clip-ons and flip-ups, stick-on magnifiers, and oversized dark glasses that are worn over other glasses.

“Ono’s are just right and just in time for 129-million active baby boomers experiencing the effects of aging eyes – presbyopia is the medical term, said Nelson. “Now one pair of fashionable sunglasses give them clear distant focus as well as the ability to read a book on the beach, peruse a menu at an outdoor café, refer to the program at an outdoor sporting event, and see to do a million other close-up tasks outdoors.”

The Latitude and Schooner join seven other fashionable unisex models from Ono’s with magnification from 1.50 to 2.50.  Breton, Curlew, Carabelle, Oak Harbor, Grand Gosier, Vieux Carré, and Harbor Docks feature memory-flex TR-90 frames with CR-39 lens for 100 percent UVA/UVB protection. Models are available with grey, amber and blue-mirror lenses.

Nelson said amber lenses provide brighter field and more color contrast and often are preferred, for example, by snow skiers and snowmobilers on cloudy days and by shallow water sight-fishing anglers who want to see fish and underwater features more distinctly. Nelson said. Others prefer grey lenses, such as at a sporting event, because of accurate color transmission. Blue mirror lenses are ideal for use in highly-reflective conditions such as on the deck of a cruise ship or a ski slope on a sunny day.
