National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers Announces Changes to Board of  Directors
Lipsey and Baumler Named New Officers of Leading Industry Association 

August 2, 2010 (Orlando, FL) - Richard Lipsey of Lipsey’s (Baton Rouge, LA), is the new Chairman of theNational Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers (NASGW) and Jack Baumler of W. L. Baumler Company (Lorain, OH) now holds the office of Secretary within the organization. Both elections are effective immediately and carry terms which run through January, 2011. 

ImageAlthough no longer Chairman, Michael Brown, President of Camfour, Inc. (Westfield, MA), retains his seat as Director for NASGW through August 6, 2010. Brown thanked everyone for their work and commitment to the association’s on-going success and stated he “looks forward to continuing interaction in a new capacity within the industry” as Vice President, Sporting Goods Sales for Smith & Wesson, Inc. (Springfield, MA).  Richard Lipsey, who has led the transition of his company from a sporting goods retailer to a nationallyrespected shooting sports wholesaler, has served on the NASGW board for the several years, including previous terms in office as President (as the Chairmanship was previously titled), Secretary and Treasurer. 

“I am honored to take the helm of the NASGW at this time”, said Lipsey. “We want to thank Mike for his service and dedication and we want our members to know that the Board will continue to work in support of two-step distribution within our industry.” 

The changes come just two months after the appointment of Maurice “Moe” Desmarais as President. Desmarais will be working with the Board in naming a new Director from within the NASGW Wholesaler membership to serve out Brown’s remaining term expiring in 2012. Two (2) seats, those presently held by Baumler and Hewitt Grant of Ellett Brothers(Chapin, SC), are also up for regular election at this year’s Annual Meeting on November 3rd in Louisville, KY.
