Shoot Rifle Bullets in Your Handgun

(Grand Island, NE) – Hornady’s patented Flex Tip® technology, originally developed to prevent primers from detonating in tubular magazines, now provides handgun shooters the ability to shoot rifle bullets in their handguns.
The new 357 Magnum LEVERevolution® ammunition features a 140 grain FTX (Flex Tip® eXpanding) bullet at 1440 fps from a 7.5" revolver and 1850 fps when fired from an 18" carbine. 44 Magnum performance is equally impressive with its 225 gr FTX bullet leaving the muzzle of a 7.5" revolver at 1410 fps and reaches 1870 fps when fired from a 18" carbine.
Typical hollow point handgun bullets perform well at modest velocities, but expand quickly and sacrifice penetration at the higher velocities achieved with longer barreled carbines. This is not the case withHornady’s new FTX bullets.
The ability to deliver controlled expansion over a broad range of velocities provides unmatched terminal performance in both handguns and lever action rifles, giving hunters the flexibility to use the 357 Mag and 44 Mag LEVERevolution® in any hunting situation.
