Thumbhole Stocks New to S&K Product Line

What does the world’s largest independent manufacturer of wood gunstocks do when customers ask for something? They build it. That’s what S&K Gunstocks did when customers began requesting thumbhole stocks.
“This was an area of the consumer market we weren’t involved in yet,” said Sales Manager Craig Stout. “Since rolling out our Ultra Walnut line of stocks last year, we found that the Ruger 10-22 is one of our best-selling models. Because of that, we started offering a 10-22 bull barrel in Fall 2007. We have a very loyal customer base in that area, so the next logical step was to do a thumbhole for the bull barrel.”
The thumbhole stock has the added stability of laminated layers of dyed birch and is available in blue, green, orange, red and forest camo. The stock features an ergonomically designed vertical thumbhole grip to increase comfort and accuracy while shooting from the bench. It has a raised comb for easy line-of-sight when using a mounted scope and is fitted with a soft rubber Pachmayr butt pad.“
Our new thumbhole stock is mainly for serious benchrest and target shooters looking to take their shooting to the next level,” Stout said. “The thumbhole just feels more solid in their hand. It gives them a better hand position than a more traditional grip.
