Beretta's New UGB25 Xcel Combines Tradition and Innovation
ACCOKEEK, MD (February 19, 2008) — The new Beretta UGB25 Xcel shotgun builds upon the reputation Beretta has established over the years as the leader in firearm tradition and innovation. This new shotgun features an innovative locking system with break-open action that allows operation in complete safety during competitions. The second round is not hidden inside the magazine tube – instead it is always visible in its side cartridge carrier.
The new Beretta UGB25 Xcel, available in 12 gauge with a 30” barrel, operates on a short barrel recoil system which keeps the internal parts of the firearm clean even after prolonged use. The short recoil and the low-set single barrel, which inhibits muzzle jump, offers the advantage of maintaining the same point of impact of the second shot exactly in line with that of the first shot, allowing for quicker and easier re-alignment of the barrel on the target for the next shot.
Crafted with the unmistakable touch of Giugiaro Design, the UGB25 Xcel is ergonomically fashioned with a light alloy receiver that fits smoothly into the stock, allowing quick and instinctive target acquisition. Made of select walnut stock with a water-resistant finish, the UGB25 Xcel offers a streamlined receiver and the newly-designed fore-end with extended checkered configuration for a very attractive look.
All versions of the Berettas break-open UGB25 Xcel feature the Optima-Bore® Barrel with a lengthened forcing cone for enhanced pattern distribution reduced felt recoil and shot velocity optimization. The unique design of the Beretta Optimachoke and Extended Optimachoke tubes reduces shot deformation and enhances shot pattern distribution and concentration. Both chokes can be used with steel shot.
The Beretta break-open UGB25 Xcel comes in a case that contains a wide selection of accessories: a 25ml bottle of Beretta gun oil, a multi-purpose service tool, interchangeable Optimachoke or Extended Optimachoke tubes and a choke-tube wrench. Suggested retail price for the new UGB25 Xcel is $3,875. The UGB25 Xcel is currently available in the 12 gauge, 30" barrel Trap version and will soon feature additional Sporting versions with varying barrel lengths.
