Like kids and candy stores, guns and gun writers are inherently DNA’d.
--Bob Rogers, Editor
Compulsively speaking, gun guys who write about them for a living are as hooked as any addict. Thus it was that a bunch of us showed up a day early for the 2008 edition of the SHOT Show only because of the offer of a shoot fest on several ranges in the Las Vegas area. Think of it: Ruger, Smith & Wesson, FNH, Remington, Browning, Winchester; these were only a few of the companies eager to let us shoot up southern Nevada with all their new guns, guns which retailers won’t even see until the next day, first day of the SHOT Show. None of our SSR contingent could even begin to count how many rounds we fired, and not all of us had enough time to show up at every event. As a result, this writer made it to just two of the five venues, one hosted by FNH and the other sponsored by a large group of manufacturers under the banner of Media Day. Imagine, a whole day named after us. Forget President’s Day. Media Day’s the day to celebrate. Should be a national holiday. Quote this article on your site | Views: 333
