Ferreting out reloading gear in a never ending river of exhibitors and attendees at the SHOT show can be as challenging as finding flakes of gold in a streambed. Bundling products and services—like your telephone, internet, HD television (think iPhone)—is catching. Several companies in the load-your-own business appear to be climbing on the bandwagon. Lyman Products www.lymanproducts.com line has everything from complete reloading kits, precision pistol and rifle dies, case preparation and cleaning gear to bullet casting equipment. Lyman also publishes a number of books on pistol, rifle, shotgun and black powder reloading.
The one thing that caught my eye was the Lyman Crusher II Pro Kit. This kit allows anyone new to reloading to get started without blowing their entire bank account.
RCBS www.rcbs.com, an ATK Ammunition Systems Group company, is a supplier of a wide ranging line of reloading supplies, including three complete kits that can put anyone into the reloading game. New for 2008, RCBS introduces their Pro2000 Auto Index Press & Upgrade Kit. This outfit has a load rate of 600 rounds per hour and the Upgrade Kit converts the standard Pro2000 system to auto-indexing.
Of course, the foxy girl in the black dress on the cover of Dillon Precision Products’ Blue Press catalog drew me into their booth www.dillonprecision.com. This firm makes some of the best precision loading machines on the market. Their Square Deal ‘B’ model is everything you could want in a reloading machine. And the loader comes ready-to-use in 16 handgun calibers. Handgun, rifle and shot shell machines are all offered by this innovative firm.
At the close of the day, I wandered into the Forster Products www.forsterproducts.com booth and surveyed their extensive display of outstanding reloading gear. Everything, from case trimmers to reloading dies can be found in their product line. All of these fine reloading products are precision made to produce the ultimate in reloaded ammunition.
