Beretta-Sponsored Shooter Sets Two World Records While Winning The Gold

Image

ACCOKEEK, MD
(June 19, 2007) — Beretta is pleased to announce that Team Beretta Shooter Vincent Hancock clutched the Gold Medal at the 2007 ISSF World Cup in Lonato Italy.  During his stellar performance he raised the bar for shooters world-wide by setting two new competition records.   Hancock’s first perfect round was the 125/125 in the qualifier and he followed that up by shooting 25 straight in the final round for a final score of 150/150.  This perfect performance came while using the Beretta DT10 Skeet 28” barreled shotgun straight out of the box! (There were no modifications made to the gun at all.)

Vincent Hancock of the US Army Marksmanship Unit, Fort Benning, GA has been a part of the Beretta shooting team for three years.   This is not the first time Hancock has had a record setting performance, as a matter of fact the world record he broke was his own.   The original record was set in 2005 while shooting the World Cup in Changwon, Korea.  At the age of 16, Hancock shot an impressive 124/125 in the qualifying rounds and then 25 straight in the final to achieve a 149/150 total final score.

Hancock, age 18, won this event with grace, style and precision shooting, out performing top shooters from all over the world.  This win and his past performance allow Hancock to be in contention for a coveted slot on the US Olympic team.

“We are honored to have someone like Vinnie as part of the Beretta team.  His sportsmanship, ability, enthusiasm and dedication for the shooting sports are incredible for someone his age,” stated Rebecca Etchen, Marketing Manager, Victory Shooter.  “This performance against the best shooters in the world showcases his ability, as well as Beretta guns out-of-the-box performance and reliability.  Winning the Gold Medal at the World ISSF is quite an accomplishment, and setting two world records adds a big exclamation point.”

Beretta established in 1526, is the oldest industrial dynasty in the world tracing its roots through 16 generations of continuous family ownership.  Firearms bearing the Beretta name have been sold for almost 500 years.  Beretta USA Corp. was founded in 1977 and supplies the standard sidearm to the U.S. Armed Forces.  Today Beretta manufactures, distributes and markets a complete line of firearms, accessories and apparel.  Beretta also owns and operates six retail Beretta Gallery stores worldwide.  For additional information visit  www.berettausa.com.
