ImageSolidlockTM Series Includes Harmonic Damper Version

The new-for-2008 SolidLock TM sight series from Toxonics includes a model with built-in vibration dampening. The HD319-CL utilizes a genuine Mathews® Harmonic Damper between the direct mount and the windage slide, as a way to complete the harmonic dampening system of the bow. The brass weight suspended in its flexible web is effective at both reducing noise at the shot and the vibration that is transmitted to the sight.

Toxonics has come up with the SolidLock
TM brand name to describe a new way to lock down the gang windage and elevation adjustments on sights. Most gang adjustments are locked down by turning a screw that bends metal which is cut just a few thousands of an inch larger than the dovetail it clamps onto. Loosen the screw and the tough aluminum relaxes enough for you to reposition the windage bar against the mount or against the elevation bar that's typically part of the sight head. "That's a proven system that works fine when you can hold tolerances as tight as we do in our new plant in Mineral Springs," Toxonics President Scott Slates said. "But we couldn't keep those tight tolerances and offer a camo sight series, because the camo film itself varies in thickness more than that tolerance, based on what part of the pattern you're trying to clamp to."

Toxonics beefed up the thickness of its reversible mounting arms so it could incorporate a more sophisticated clamping system for the new SolidLock
TM sight series. When you turn the beefy socket head cap screw now, you are moving a threaded steel plunger that draws one aluminum part into the exact counter-bore of another. The wide contact area means your sight settings are locked down tight without deforming metal or scuffing up the camouflage finish. The fact you're threading steel into steel also adds strength over the former steel-to-aluminum approach.

"We developed the SolidLock
TM system to address the market's desire for camo sights that are a perfect match for today's most popular bow patterns," Slates said. "While we do offer it anodized in black, the Harmonic Damper equipped model is being made exclusively in the Lost Camo pattern that matches the new bows from Mathews®, Inc."
