Smith & Wesson Announces Winners of "Aiming for Alaska" Program 25 Dealers Win Alaskan Cruise Packages
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (June 11, 2008) – Smith & Wesson Corp., announced today the 25 grand prize winners for the Company’s “Aiming for Alaska” incentive program, which was designed to reward Top Gun Dealers for their sales of Smith & Wesson, Walther and Thompson/Center firearms. The program, which began November 1, 2007 and ran through April 30, 2008, featured 25 grand prize trips consisting of a deluxe seven-day Royal Caribbean Alaskan cruise for two people along with various other prizes. The top ten Top Gun Dealers as measured by volume of units sold, automatically won a trip to Alaska. The other 15 winners were randomly drawn from a list of qualified Top Gun Dealers. Bill Brassard, Managing Director of Communications for the National Shooting Sports Foundation, presided over the selection process, which was held at the Smith & Wesson facility in Springfield, Massachusetts. “The results we achieved with the ‘Aiming for Alaska’ incentive exceeded the expectations we had when first developing the program,” said Tom Taylor, Vice President of Marketing for Smith & Wesson. “We received tremendous feedback from all of the participating dealers and their sales associates, and through the hard work of each Top Gun Dealer and our sporting goods sales staff, the total number of firearms sold surpassed our original sales goal for the program.” As part of the three-tier program, participating Top Gun Dealers qualified once they sold 100 new Smith & Wesson, Walther or Thompson/Center firearms. On a monthly basis, Top Gun Dealers and sales associates submitted redemption forms used for each transaction. All Top Gun Dealers who participated in the program were also automatically eligible to win free Smith & Wesson firearms. The qualified Smith & Wesson Top Gun Dealers who did not win the grand prize received two free M&P polymer pistols. In addition, qualified sales associates of Top Gun Dealers were eligible to win prizes including an all expense paid trip to the Smith & Wesson factory and headquarters, free firearms and Smith & Wesson merchandise. The program will officially conclude mid-summer when 35 winning retail sales associates are chosen to receive a trip to Smith & Wesson’s headquarters in Springfield, Massachusetts for facility tours, product demonstrations and events with company associates. “It was evident from the beginning that dealers were as supportive of this program as they were for our ‘Shooting for Hawaii’ incentive held last year,” said Taylor. “On behalf of Smith & Wesson, I would like to congratulate our winners and thank all of the dealers and sales associates who participated in the program. At Smith & Wesson, we are dedicated to supporting our retailer’s sales efforts and we will continue to develop new and innovative ways to better serve the shooting sports community.” Winners of the Alaska trip: -AJC Sports Shop – Clute, TX -Alpine Range – Fort Worth, TX -Buckeye Outdoors – Hebron, OH -Buds Gun Shop – Paris, KY -Bullet Trap, Inc. – Plano, TX -Florida Gun Exchange – Port Orange, FL -Four Seasons – Woburn, MA -Gateway Outfitters – St. Charles, MO -Goschinski Fin Feather Fur Outfitters – Ashland, OH -Green Top Sporting Goods – Glen Allen, VA -Grice Gun Shop – Clearfield, PA -Jay’s Sporting Center – Gaylord, MI -John’s Sports Center – Pittsburg, KS -Larry’s – Huntsville, AL -Mace Sports Inc. – Mebane, NC -Murf’s Guns – Duncan, OK -Ohio Valley Trading – Athens, OH -Schramm’s Ammo & Weapons – Mesquite, TX -Scottsdale Gun Club – Scottsdale, AZ -Shoot Straight Florida, Inc. – Apopka, FL -Shooters of Jacksonville, Inc. – Jacksonville, FL -Specialty Arms II – Lavergne, TN -Vance’s Shooters Supplies – Columbus, OH -Westborn Gun Shop – Taylor, MI -Wild Sports – Orangevale, CA About Smith & Wesson Smith & Wesson Holding Corporation, a global leader in safety, security, protection and sport, is parent company to Smith & Wesson Corp., one of the world’s largest manufacturers of quality firearms and firearm safety/security products and parent company to Thompson/Center Arms, Inc., a premier designer and manufacturer of premium hunting rifles, black powder rifles, interchangeable firearms systems and accessories under the Thompson/Center brand.
