Worldwide Buying Group Concludes Spring Show
The Seattle-based buying cooperative just concluded a very successful Spring ‘09 tradeshow February 23-26 held in Reno, Nevada, at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. The show featured fall purchasing for Footwear, Hunting Sports, Camping/Outdoor, Men’s, Women’s and Children’s Apparel, HomeWorld and Toys. It was reported the show was well attended with over 200 members, 18 new guest stores and 576 vendor booths.
With many members cutting out other trade shows and depending on the Worldwide show to make many of their purchases, the vendor booths were busy with buyers writing business for the first quarter of 2009 as well as future purchases. Vendors were anxious to move inventory and in many cases gave incentives to take goods at once to protect the best pricing and freight deals. The stores responded by taking advantage of these incentives.
There was a great turnout for the “Latest News from the ATF” seminar conducted by three representatives from ATF explaining current firearms regulations.
The next Worldwide member trade show will be held once again in Reno September 14-17 at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.
