Zanders Sporting Goods, a national distributor located in Sparta, Illinois, is proud and excited to announce that co-owner, Glenda Zanders, was inducted into the Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame on Aug. 19th at Conservation World at the Illinois State Fair. Glenda was selected for this honor from among dozens of other individuals that were nominated by Illinois citizens and conservation organizations.
“It was a surprise to me,” Zanders said. “I never even thought about (being honored this way). I feel honored they considered me. Over the years, I’m thankful I can support all of these foundations and organizations.”
Glenda is a huge supporter and promoter of outdoor recreation and conservation. She works closely with many organizations that are devoted to educating people about the importance of conservation and responsible hunting. Glenda is an especially strong supporter of programs dedicated to promoting youth involvement in the outdoors, including Ducks Unlimited, the Boy Scouts of America, Whitetails Unlimited, and the National Wild Turkey Federation. She often contributes to many youth-centered hunting events and education programs, such as the Scholastic Clay Target Program and the Amateur Trapshooting Association’s youth program.
Glenda and the other inductees will also be honored at the ICF “Shoot for the Stars Gala” on Sept. 28th in Geneva, Illinois.
