Dayne Lester has been appointed to the new role of Vice President of Archery Products for Velocity Outdoor. Lester will manage innovation and sales strategy for Ravin Crossbows and CenterPoint Archery. Lester comes to Velocity Outdoor as part of the recent acquisition of Ravin Crossbows.

“This is a very exciting opportunity for me,” Lester said. “The team at Velocity Outdoor is very well positioned to continue to grow and in this new role I am looking forward to drawing on my experience in the industry to drive new, breakthrough technologies for both brands.”

Lester's career includes Product Development Manager for BowTech and National Sales Manager for Blackhawk Arrow Company. He also held executive sales positions at S4Gear, Field Logic and Ravin.

"We were in need of an archery industry veteran with a proven track record of success to lead our product development and sales strategy. Dayne is the perfect fit for this role.”

Pulsar, Sightmark at DSC

Pulsar Thermal and Night Vision will show its thermal and night vision products at the Dallas Safari Club Convention and Sporting Expo. Pulsar will be located in booth No. 4153.

Sightmark will be showing its lineup of innovative sights, lasers, night vision and accessories. Sightmark will be located in booth No. 4157.

The show is Jan 17-20 at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. Pulsar's products are designed to enhance shooting, hunting and surveillance.

DSC Conservation Board to Meet

During its 2019 Convention and Expo, a group of top-level conservation experts will convene for the Dallas Safari Club's inaugural Conservation Advisory Board sessions.

This new group is charged with providing subject matter expertise with regional and global perspectives on needed research, program development and advocacy. The CAB will advise and assist the DSC Board of Directors and DSC Grants Committee on domestic and international conservation issues to ensure that DSC's mission fulfillment is focused most appropriately.

New board members include Jeff Crane (Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation), Khalil Karimov (wildlife biologist, IUCN Central Asia Group chair), Rob Keck (director of conservation for Bass Pro Shops/Cabela's), Shane Mahoney (Conservation Visions Inc.), Tamas Marghescu (director general of CIC), Ron Regan (executive director of the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies) and Danene van der Westhuyzen (professional hunter and president of the Namibia Professional Hunting Association). Corey Mason, DSC's executive director, also a certified wildlife biologist, is the staff liaison.

L3 Technologies Lands SOC Contract

L3 Technologies has been awarded a $26.3 million contract from the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) to provide close-quarters sights and clip-on magnifiers from its EOTECH brand for the Miniature Aiming System–Day Optics suite. The award marks the continuation of an 18-year relationship between USSOCOM and EOTECH.

Under this five-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract (with five option years), EOTECH will deliver an updated model of its holographic weapon sight and the G33 clip-on magnifier. All work will be performed at EOTECH‘s headquarters in Ann Arbor, Mich.

EOTECH has provided Special Operations Forces with rugged and advanced holography weapon sights since 2001.

Velocity Showing at SCI

Velocity Outdoor will be exhibiting its Benjamin Bulldog and Benjamin Airbow with Ravin crossbows at the 2019 SCI Convention in Reno, Nevada.

The show is Jan. 9-12 at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.

The Benjamin Bulldog is the premium hunting airgun of Velocity Outdoor. The Bulldog .357 air rifle is lighter, more maneuverable and features more than 30 inches of rail space for accessorizing. The Bulldog is lethally effective on predators, large hogs, trophy whitetail and African plains game.

The Benjamin Bulldog delivers consistent five-shot groups of nearly 800 feet per second and with a stunning 200 foot pounds of energy when using the Benjamin eXTREME airgun 145-grain hunting bullet by Nosler. Shooters can expect up to 10 usable shots on a single charge.
