During what probably was one of the most unique — some might say bizzare — Oval Office meetings possibly ever, rapper Kanye West reeled off a 10-minute monologue with President Trump that touched on everything from Saturday Night Live to gun control.

The White House has undergone scads of changes in our country’s history and its first days. President George Washington laid the cornerstone of the first White House, which wasn’t called by that name then. It was built on swamp land. It was burned by the British (those Dirty Brits!). Its doors were open to the public in the early years of presidencies so the head of state could meet citizens, patrons and others.

What transpired when President Trump hosted West for a pre-lunch meeting that included former NFL Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown and the news media was one for the books, though.

West chattered on for about 10 minutes while Trump sat at the Resolute Desk, with the news photographers beside them. Brown sat beside West, who tackled topics from Constitutional amendments, violence, Saturday Night Live and North Korea.

West touched on the SNL monologue that was cut off when he, while hosting the show’s autumn season opener this year, began praising Trump. When a reporter asked West about gun control he had this to say:

“The problem is illegal guns, illegal guns is the problem. Not legal guns. We have the right to bear arms,” West said about the debate over gun violence in America and gun control.

He’s right about that, of course. West’s liberal opponents are losing their minds about his stances, going as far as to call him “the token negro of the Trump administration.”

Based on West’s thoughts about the right to bear arms, it wouldn’t be a stretch to think he enjoys shooting and possibly hunting. It wouldnt be the first time Trump has mingled in the Oval Office with hunters and shooting enthusiast celebrities, having dined and offered tours in April 2017 to Ted Nugent and his wife, Shemane, Kid Rock (real name Robert Ritchie) and Sarah Palin.
