Chambered for the popular and economical .22 LR cartridge, SU22 series rifles from Kel-Tec accept most AR-22 magazines and are a great fit for new shooters. Models differ mainly in forend and stock options. A standalone firearm and not a conversion, the SU22 series rifle is based on its big brother, the SU16, and shares many of its characteristics. The SU22 is equipped with the same magazine storage stock as the SU16 and a compact forend with Picatinny-style rail as a standard. The stock/grip assembly is compatible with any of the SU16 models. It also comes with adjustable iron sights over a 16-inch threaded barrel and a Picatinny-style top rail for mounting optics.
