Anschütz, the maker of premium sporting and hunting rifles based in Ulm, Germany, is opening a U.S. subsidiary, Anschütz North America, to better serve distribution and marketing needs in the United States market. No U.S. manufacturing is planned.

“The USA is a powerful market with a huge demand for Anschütz premium quality rifles,” Jochen Anschütz, president of J.G. Anschütz GmbH & Co. KG, noted. “Over the years, the continued interest from the American hunters and target shooters in our fine hunting and high-precision target rifles has given us the confidence to further grow and support this important market.”

Previously, Anschütz firearms were available in the U.S. exclusively through Steyr Arms, Inc., in Alabama. “During this time, we would like to highlight our appreciation of Steyr Arms dedication and commitment to building the Anschütz Hunting and Sporter brand in the US," said Jochen Anschütz. He noted that he and his father Dieter Anschütz discussed the need for a way to expand their service in the U.S. at January’s SHOT Show. “We feel that the best way to support this new growth is to take the distribution and sales service into our own hands,” he said. Both he and his father have already lived and worked in the U.S.

Anschütz features Hunting, Biathlon, and Target lines of rifles. 56 out of the 60 biathlon medals awarded in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, were won by athletes using the Anschütz 1827 F rifle.

Anschütz North America will launch in the U.S. effective July 1st. It will offer their customers the famous Anschütz After-Sales Service for all company products, as well as any needed support in cases of warranty claims, repairs, spare-parts, and technical information. The established Anschütz distribution chain and main dealer network in the US will continue to operate as before.
