Here are some updates and the latest shooting sports industry news:

CrossBreed Holsters is meeting demand for its holsters for the new Glock G43X and Glock 48 pistols.

The G43X is the latest entry in Glock's Slimline series, which presents an easy-carry frame and 10-round capacity. The G43X pairs well with the CrossBreed concept of highly ergonomic, high quality construction IWB, OWB, and off-body carry solutions.

CrossBreed Holsters offers additional holstering solutions and accessories designed specifically for this much-anticipated handgun. These include the Purse Defender holsters and mag carriers, Modular Belly Band holsters and mag carriers, Ohai/Bedside holster and mag carrier for the bedroom, and Pac Mat and Mini Pac Mat holsters and mag carrier for concealed carry inside daypacks and gear bags.

CrossBreed also offers its top holster models for the new Glock G48, which is part of the Glock Silver Slimline Series of 9x19-chambered carry pistols. CrossBreed has developed compatible holsters and magazine carriers that span most of the company's product line. These include the popular SuperTuck and Freedom Carry IWB holsters. Other discreet carry options for OWB fans are the SuperSlide, SnapSlide, DropSlide, and the Modular Belly Band holsters. Even The Reckoning— CrossBreed Holsters' new crossover model that allows for IWB or OWB carry configurations—is available for the G48.

Buckeye Firearms Foundation Wins Legal Battle

Buckeye Firearms Foundation, in cooperation with Ohioans for Concealed Carry, has won a lawsuit against the City of Cincinnati over its “bump stock” ban.

Judge Robert Ruehlman of Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas on Feb. 8, 2019, granted a Motion for Summary Judgment and shall issue a permanent injunction. As a result, the City of Cincinnati is no longer permitted to enforce its illegal ordinance.

In May 2018, Cincinnati City Council passed an ordinance making the possession of “trigger activators” illegal within city limits. The trigger activator ban included a number of devices, including “bump stocks” or “bump fire” stocks, which are legal everywhere else across Ohio.

“This ban was completely unjustified and a great concern for gun owners,” said Dean Rieck, Executive Director of Buckeye Firearms Foundation. “Under Ohio law, local municipalities are not permitted to enact firearms laws that conflict with state law. And clearly, outlawing guns or gun parts, is a clear violation of state law.”

After careful review of the ordinance as passed, Buckeye Firearms Foundation contacted the City of Cincinnati in attempt to work toward a resolution short of litigation. After those attempts failed, Buckeye Firearms Foundation was forced to litigate and filed suit shortly thereafter. Buckeye Firearms Foundation obtained a preliminary injunction and, after a lengthy legal battle, the court granted Buckeye Firearms Foundation's Motion for Summary Judgment.

The ruling is a significant victory for gun owners across Ohio. Various municipalities have attempted to defy state law in this manner, only to lose in court. Columbus recently lost a similar case brought by Ohioans for Concealed Carry and Buckeye Firearms Foundation.

“These bans are not about public safety,” continued Rieck. “They are merely political theater and an excuse for City Councils to 'virtue signal' for publicity and personal aggrandizement.

“Ohio law is clear on the issue of 'preemption,' which forbids cities from passing their own gun laws in order to maintain a uniform set of laws statewide. In fact, H.B. 228, which passed with a historic veto override before the 2018 holidays, further strengthens preemption to discourage cities from these egregious violations of Ohio and U.S. Constitutional rights.”

RISE Armament Top-Trending Brand in 2018

Rise Armament has been named the top-trending brand by Crow Shooting Supply for the fourth quarter of 2018.

A family-owned national wholesale distributor of firearms, ammunition reloading components, and shooting accessories, Crow Shooting Supply leverages its unique data system to recognize and forecast industry trends. Following Crow’s fourth-quarter data assessment, Rise Armament surpassed several heavy hitters and was named the top-trending brand for the year’s busiest quarter.

“We are excited for this brand recognition and success,” said Chris Stratton, director of sales for Rise Armament. “Crow has been a key partner in our growth, and we’re honored to be a top performer for them.”

The past year was exceptionally strong for Rise Armament. The company’s success in AR components, especially triggers, continued to compound and was joined by a burgeoning demand for its precision rifles, which are designed and manufactured in Broken Arrow, Okla. In 2018, Rise Armament grew 74.5 percent, which is especially impressive when compared to the industry’s 15.2 percent decline.

“Rise Armament has been making waves in the firearms industry since its official launch in 2014,” stated Bryan Stuntebeck, VP of business development at Crow Shooting Supply. “We saw a very impressive trend for Rise throughout 2018, which crescendoed during the holiday season.”

RISE Armament specializes in the design and manufacturing of AR-15s, triggers, barrels, handguards, compensators, and more for civilian, military and law enforcement uses.
