Shooting Industry News: Delta Defense Safety Notification; Zanders Receives Distributor Award

In the latest shooting industry news ...

Daniel Defense is reminding owners of its Delta 5 bolt-action rifle to be aware of a safety notification replacement campaign the company issued in October 2019 related to a condition identified with the firing pin cross pin in Delta 5 rifles.

The Delta 5 rifles in question were manufactured before September 20, 2019.

Specifically, the firing pin cross pin can break under normal usage. Daniel Defense asks that consumers immediately check to see if their Delta 5 Rifle falls under the safety notification replacement campaign.

If a Delta 5 Rifle falls under this campaign, immediately discontinue use of the rifle, point the rifle in a safe direction, activate the safety selection lever, check and verify the rifle is unloaded and that the chamber is empty; if it is not empty, remove any chambered round, remove the bolt magazine and the bolt assembly, and follow the bolt assembly return instructions below.

The firing pin cross pin is located within the Delta 5 bolt assembly and holds the firing pin and cocking piece together in the striker assembly. The firing pin cross pin can break, allowing the firing pin to move freely within the bolt assembly. It is possible that an unintentional firearm discharge may occur.

Daniel Defense will correct any potential conditions at no cost to the consumer.
