There’s nothing wrong with a given pistol simply because a newer model has come out, but the desire for the latest and greatest can often cause customers to pass over earlier guns. So, what’s a retailer to do?

The leader in lead-free ammunition just announced it added .38 Special to its Civil Defense lineup.

The new Reactor TL packs a 140 lumen white light, a strobe function and the Viridian Instant-On technology. The Taclight comes packaged with a holster and two sets of batteries.

New this year are models for Sig Sauer P220R/P226R, full sized and compact Sig P227, and the Sig P229R. Additionally, 7TS holsters for Glock 17/22 and Glock 19/23 with popular lights are also joining the lineup.

Partnering with renowned firearms distributor Lew Horton, the company now offers a CW9 with an electric cobalt blue slide, an “All American” version (complete with a pinup girl posing in front of an American flag) and a Molon Labe model.

The Smith & Wesson 22 Compact has all the whistles and bells of an M&P 9/40, but in a package that’s about 15 percent smaller that of the full-up handgun.

The new LC9s expands the LC9 line to four models. In addition to the new LC9s and the original LC9 in 9mm, the line includes the LC380 and the diminutive LCP chambered in .380 ACP.

The company released an announcement that problems had indeed been found and that customers who bought an R51 will be allowed to exchange it for a new one after production resumes.

This was my first time shooting either handgun and I'm more familiar with full-sized tactical handguns than anything else. But I must say shooting both was fun, but if I had to pick a winner, it would be the Bodyguard revolver in .38 Special.

The CT line features a full-sized polymer frame with textured grips and a matte stainless steel slide. It is double action only and has a 3.965 inch barrel.

On June 10 the company introduced a new handgun to its lineup — the striker fired VP9. Offered in 9mm, the new pistol is the result of over four years of development and features a much more user friendly trigger, the company says. The grip is customizable with new backstraps and grip panels.
